The Terroir

In the incomparable Natural Park of Los Arribes del Duero, where the Duero River has carved deep canyons that mark the natural border with Portugal, stretches a landscape of more than 100 km of majestic cliffs and waterfalls. At its heart, Pereña de la Ribera, an emblematic place in the Iberian Peninsula, stands out for its beauty and tradition, being a key point in this unique environment of great historical and natural value.

The vines, planted about 100 years ago using a system of Gavias (which was a kind of hole in the ground 1 m long by 1 m wide and 1 m deep and which was covered with straw and animal manure to protect and provide food for the plant) in a goblet, take their nutrients from a poor soil of slate and granite. Due to the composition of the grapes, no correction is necessary in our wines, neither in acidity nor in pH, and their freshness makes them suitable for any time of the year.
