Many thanks to sommelier Diego González and Tapas magazine for including our wine Bruñal 2010 in the ‘Guide to the best wines of Spain’. In his review, Diego highlights the uniqueness of the Bruñal variety, an indigenous grape that we have worked to preserve in the vineyards of Arribes del Duero. Below, we share his full review:
If there is one thing we can be proud of in Castilla y León, it is the diversity offered by the different territories, soils and varieties, as in the case of the Arribes area. For us it is one of the jewels that you have to know and visit, where unique landscapes intermingle with centenary vineyards and impossible plots. I have chosen it because La Bruñal was on the verge of extinction at the beginning of the century. Luckily it was able to survive, and we are dealing with a variety native to the northwest of the peninsula, with influence in Portugal.
Pairing: Matured pigeon breast with its own juices and grilled figs.
