Our History
The winery was created in 1998, having as one of its main objectives the recovery of the native grape varieties, such as ‘Juan García’ and the extinct ‘Bruñal’.

respecting
Mother Nature
In Pereña de la Ribera, Salamanca, within the Natural Park of Los Arribes del Duero, the river Duero has carved deep canyons, forming an impressive natural border with Portugal.
With more than one hundred kilometres of incomparable landscapes dotted with cliffs, waterfalls, canyons, ravines, terraces, landscapes carved out by nature over millions of years.
A courtship of intricate flavours, red fruit aromas and delicate nuances.
EACH PROCESS IS CARRIED OUT NATURALLY
The grapes are selected directly from the plant by clusters and then manually on the sorting table.
Our yeasts are natural, neutral, and specific to the winery, dominating the malolactic fermentation process of our wines.
We respect the natural system of production and follow the traditional methods as much as possible.

FRENCH OAK
Patience and understanding time is key for the production from the selection of Bruñal grapes to the 12 months of ageing in French and Romanian oak barrels to the up to 36 months in bottle.
The existence of Bruñal is a mastery of these processes, unequalled in every way.
Bodegas de Pereña has taken up again the legacy abandoned after generations of generations of winemaking tradition, recovering native varieties such as Juan García and the varieties such as Juan García and the extinct Bruñal.
